After leaving the Jedi Order and surviving Order 66, Ahsoka Tano forged a new path independent of both Jedi and Sith. During this time, she recovered red Sith kyber crystals and purified them through the light side of the Force, causing them to turn white—a rare process symbolizing healing and balance.
Using these purified crystals, Ahsoka constructed her iconic dual white lightsabers, featuring curved, minimalist hilts and shorter blades suited to her agile, reverse-grip combat style. Wielded during her time as the rebel operative Fulcrum, the sabers represent Ahsoka’s rejection of dogma and her commitment to fighting injustice on her own terms.
