The crystals had originally been one, but had split in half when Kestis found them.The lightsaber, similar to Jaro Tapal's, was a double-bladed weapon. One blade could be ignited or both at the same time, allowing Kestis to use the weapon single-bladed or double-bladed respectively. Furthermore, the weapon could split into two separate lightsabers, allowing Kestis to use Jar'Kai.
